and finally... Maggie Beer.

Ive heard about her so many times that i knew i couldnt go pass Nurioopta without dropping by Maggi Beer.
its a foodies joyful joyful place..
coz they have FREE TASTING SAMPLES!!! And its a beautiful place!

The raspberry and strawberry jam IS gorgeous! but no stock...

these are the duck pate (i will not eat that anymore after ive realised how it is produced!!!)

this is the picnic lunch set... like so premade kan. but yums!
i can imagine my dad's disgusted face eating liver pate, with bread, gherkins and the couscous thingy...

TOO bad i didnt get to stay on to see the cooking demo.... ohwell... next time.... =)

Clare and around

we had a weekend getaway to clare.
and a fabulous time we had.
its a gorgeous lil town, but it. was. freezing.
wouldve been better if the weather was a bit sunnier.
there were many small dead towns around the clare. lol.
felt like we were in a movie or something.
Enough of words, i shall overload u with some pics now.

First up, we stopped at Mintaro.
very small town. but lovely lovely food at Reillys.

Fresh egg fettuccine and antipasto platter.

scones and sticky date pudding. Uve gotta be drooling by now!

Then as we got closer to clare, we dropped by Sevenhill (famous wines it seems).

They had an underground cellar and a beautiful church.

The next day, we went out of clare towards burra.
Stopped by Ferrell Flat. we saw only ONE person while we were in the town.

Burra was a nice place - old mining town.

Most of what we had during the trip were views like this one above.
Piao liang la!

happy bday sweetieee

It was sam's bday.
I was so honoured to have dinner with her on her bday. =)
She is a special one, and deserved an awesome celebration!
We went to auge - and it was gorgeous.
The tiramisu was TOO bitter thou. dont try it. unless well, u like ur desserts bitter.
And after the three course meal, we had floating pie still. lol. we eat like monsters.
And Im so happy that she did enjoy herself and the present! ; )

Yay... Ai ling and kam fwei are here!

And Ive got TWO HAPPY STUFFSSSSS!!!

Got to catch up with Lillian & Erica too over BBQ which is ALWAYS good!

And of course, the long awaited 'zai pao' (vegetarian steamed bun) from the moon lantern fest.

AND AND such beautiful munchies at oxygen!

Our chef made awesome Char SIEW too!!!

*Burp* I need to slow down...

the premier

I went to the premier of Julia and Julie held by Le Cordon Bleu yesterday night.
Its my FIRST premier... got red carpet and champagne wan.
so coolness!
The BEST PART was that Le Cordon Bleu was part of it which means....
yummmmmyyyyyy bites!

The beautiful spread of pastries was done by one of their korean students and i just couldnt.stop.staring.at.them.with.greedy.eyes.
And there were more that were just too *gasps* for words.

Ohyeah btw, my bro's frens came to visit for the weekend! and it was good good fun!
I love melbourne ppl!!
i will see everyone again soon! =)

we did it!

Finished the 12km walk!!

yalah.. its just a walk, i will die if it was running.
actually
got yang tua tua punya, mothers with prams, ppl on wheelchair, with lego heads (???), weird costumes etc

so if i cant finish, it will be utter embarrassment lah.

Then we ATE ATE ATE. lol
FREE FOOD!!!

Amy who terror punya, ran 12km. so terror. =0

I will definitely join again next year and maybe dress up as some weirdo too... who knows!

Star of Siam

after walkin pass it umpteenth times
and seeing how its always so packed
ive finally step inside and tried the food
and it was good!

Although the green curry was a bit too coconuty compared to cafe michaels.. but it was nice somehow.
And the salt and pepper beancurd.... drools. crispy and salty! Yeah baby!

We were very happy customers! =)

korean BBQ!!!

used to have so much of this in msia coz my dad loves to REALLY stuff us at the korean BBQ.
And now, ive finally tried something slightly closer to that
the BBQ meat wrapped in lettuce with garlic, spring onions and their sauces.
YUMMERS!

YEs!!! its fatty pork belly that ure seeing...
look at it happily grilling away! =)
